Kids at play, holding hands

Healthy Child Care, ETC is a consultation service that provides local child care centers with the support and resources that they need in order to ensure the health and safety of the children in their care.

Current data suggest that there has been a marked increased in working mothers which has increased the demand for out-of-home child care settings.  Forty percent of children whose mothers are part of our nation’s workforce spend the majority of their waking hours in child care.  Children in these settings are more likely to be exposed to communicable disease, inadequate nutrition, and unsafe physical environments than their stay-at-home counterparts.

Child care providers wish to reduce these risk factors, and provide the best quality of care possible.  These valued caregivers often need support and advice on health and safety issues that are essential to improving the child care environment.  Healthy Child Care ETC consultants are available to child care providers to assist them through consultation, staff training, and resource referral
