    • Blood Pressure Check
    • Height/Weight Check
    • Head Lice/Scabies Check
    • HIV Testing and Counseling
    • Pregnancy Test
    • WIC - A supplemental nutrition and educational program for women, infants and children who qualify based on income and nutritional risk.
    • Presumptive Eligibility - Assistance for pregnant women with or without insurance
    • Women's Cancer Medicaid - Assistance for women with breast or cervical cancer who need treatment and qualify by diagnosis, income and age (without insurance).
    • Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention - Offer a breast exam, pap smear and mammogram to women who qualify by age and income. Service is free to those who qualify.
    • Immunizations - Vaccine for Children is a federally funded program that supplies vaccines to participating providers. The vaccine may then be made available to qualify children 18 years and under who are: Medicaid enrolled, uninsured (no health insurance coverage), underinsured (has health insurance but vaccines are not covered), American Indian or Alaskan Native.
    • Hearing, Vision, and Dental Screening
    • Hepatitis B Testing
    • Lead Screening - For children up to age 5.
    • Metabolic Screening - early detection of genetic disorders in newborns.
    • PPD (Tuberculin Skin Test)
    • TB Management (Active and Latent Infection)
    • Universal Newborn Hearing Screening - Promotes hearing screenings on all newborns prior to hospital discharge. Health department offers second screening for those needing follow-up.
    • Children 1st - A tracking program for at-risk children birth to age 6.
    • Family Planning - Birth control methods, pregnancy tests, breast and pelvic exams, and screening for cervical cancer (pap smears).
    • Sexually Transmitted Disease Services - Screening, diagnosis and treatment for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, HIV, Hepatitis B, Syphilis, Herpes, etc.
    • Children's Medical Services - Children birth to 21 with chronic medical conditions requiring specialized medical care.
    • Car Seat Inspections - Car seat technicians are on staff to inspect car seats by appointment. A grant has been obtained to provide seats to those who qualify.
    • Nutrition Counseling - Medical Nutrition Therapy, Diabetes education and Counseling.

Certificates are available for persons who were born or died in the State of Georgia. In the event that we are unable to issue a certificate from this office, we will give you the necessary contacnt information for either another county or the State Vital Records Office.

  • School Nurse ~ Floyd County and Rome City Schools. Promote principles of health and wellness, first aid for students, staff and parents. Screenings include: Hearing, Vision and Dental; Head Lice, and Scoliosis. Assist with Immunization Audits and work with community agents. Make home visits and provide health education to students, staff and parents.
