March 7, 2008, Dallas, GA: Teresa Knight has been named Nurse Manager of the Paulding County Health Department. A native of Gainesville, Florida, Teresa has a long history of serving the public through nursing. She attended George Wallace College, where she received her Registered Nurse license in 1989. She began her nursing career at Southeast Alabama Medical Center working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After working several years in Home Health Management, she accepted an Assistant Director of Nursing position and, later, the Director of Nursing position in the area of Long Term Care. New immunization requirements April 19 , 2007, Dallas, GA: New state immunization requirements to help protect children from preventable childhood diseases have been announced, according to Northwest Georgia Public Health Immunization Coordinator Marie Smith. The new requirements go into effect July 1, 2007 and include two new required vaccines and additional doses of two existing required vaccines, according to Smith.
